CUSTOMIZATION
Chain stitch embroidery is a technique that interlocks the thread as it’s embroidered into a garment creating a unique and attractive thread line. Because the entire process is done by hand, it allows the sewer to create nearly any design and often used to create highly detailed design sewn onto garments. The technique and art form date back to the late 1800s, and hit critical mass into the 1920s. At LS&B we utilize 1940’s 50’s and 60’s machines that still provide the classic look and feel.
CUSTOMIZATION Q & A
WHAT CAN I GET EMBROIDERED?
Just about anything can be chain stitched. We do not recommend anything that is delicate or stretchy as the needle is large and can potentially damage sensitive items.
WHERE ON MY ITEM CAN I GET SOMETHING CHAIN STITCHED?
Almost anywhere on a garment. Some locations may require the item to be deconstructed and put back together by our tailor (at an additional cost). Bring in your item and we will walk you through the best locations for your chain stitch design.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Prices vary based off of the size of the design, its complexity, and how many colors. The best way to find out is to bring your design into the store or send it to info@lotstockandbarrel.com for a quote. Monograms start at $25.
When chain stitched directly onto a garment it is permanent. If you prefer something to be less permanent, we can make a patch of your design and have it sewn onto the garment by our in house tailor. Patches are popular for the ease of transferring from one garment to another.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
It depends on the complexity of the design. Monograms can typically be done the same day, larger orders usually require two weeks.
CAN YOU CHAIN STITCH AN ITEM I ALREADY OWN OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE A LOT, STOCK & BARREL PRODUCT?
We can embroider either something you find at the store, or your favorite piece you bring in.
WHAT COLORS CAN I USE?
We have a large assortment of colors to choose from and we can find a close replacement for specific colors you are looking for.
WHAT ARE THE CARE INSTRUCTIONS?
If possible, please dry clean your customized garments to ensure that the thread stays fresh and vibrant. Chain stitched garments can be lightly hand washed and hang to dry as a second option.
CAN YOU DO BULK ORDERS?
Absolutely, email us at info@lotstockandbarrel.com for a quote and we will try our best to accommodate your order.
